Credit Card Deals – Please Sir Can I Have Some More
March 21, 2006

When you come to the end of your 0 per cent balance transfer deal and decide to move to another credit card, do not be surprised if you are offered an extended deal.
More and more credit card companies are offering extended 0 per cent deals to keep you as a customer. We spoke to James Gillespie, Glasgow, who said, “I used the Virgin credit card offer for 0% balance transfers for 9 months, I was happy with the service, however, near the end of the 9 month term I decided I had to move my existing balance to another credit card that offered a 0 per cent balance transfer deal.”
“When I cleared my balance with Virgin and informed them I wanted to close my account they then contacted me and offered me another 6 months 0% balance transfer deal! I was surprised, if I had known I would not have spent a few days looking for another credit card with a 0 per cent balance transfer deal and I would have saved the balance transfer fee I had to pay to my new credit card provider, £30”
We would advise anyone with an MBNA owned credit card to contact them before their 0% balance transfer deal comes to an end and ask them if they are willing to extend their offer. MBNA provide a number of including:
MBNA Platinum Plus
Virgin
