Why the new Bread card comes highly recommended

November 20, 2007

There has been a lot of fuss regarding the new Bread Maestro card lately and so it is no surprise that once again it comes highly recommended. The new card is a prepaid card and whilst it looks exactly like a credit card, the main difference is that you cannot spend more than you have. Just like with a debit card, you spend only what you put onto the card. So just what is the point in that?

The main advantage of a prepaid card is that you will never get into debt with it. You cannot possibly spend more than you have and so that means that you are safe to use it whenever you have the money already loaded onto the card. Another advantage is that you will not have to carry a lot of cash around with you. That can be a worry for many people as cash can easily get either lost or stolen.

You can also use the card in a large number of places. You can shop online, you can purchase cinema tickets, travel tickets and you can even book flights with it. Another benefit which some people will find really useful is that you can share your account with another person.

So if you have family abroad for example, you could arrange to have two Bread cards; one for you and one for the other person. Then you would choose how much money you wanted the other person to have access to whenever you top up the card. It is a really good idea and it makes sending money to relatives and friends a whole lot easier.

You can also have your wages paid directly onto the card. All you have to do to do this is fill in a wages transfer form. That makes it easier if you do not currently have a bank account. It could be that you have bad credit and you need to start a fresh with a new card. If so then the Bread card would be absolutely ideal for you.

Overall the Bread card really does come highly recommended. It is definitely the best alternative to a credit card and you will not have to worry about getting into debt.
