Halifax has 'credit cards to suit all needs'

Halifax has claimed that it is offering credit cards to suit every shopper's needs this Christmas, with introductory offers still available.

The One card is currently available with the bank, offering zero per cent interest for nine months on balance transfers and purchases, with a typical APR of 9.9 per cent.

An alternative of this card is available with zero per cent interest for purchases and balance transfers for 12 months, with a higher typical rate of 12.9 per cent.

Both of these products feature a balance transfer fee of three per cent.

A flat rate card is also available, with interest of 5.9 per cent on both balance transfers and purchases.

Peter Jackson, head of products at Halifax, said: "Many people may have already made their Christmas purchases on expensive store cards. Switching to a credit card with a zero per cent introductory offer on balance transfers could help them lower the overall cost of Christmas spends."

The bank states that customers planning on using a new credit card for Christmas may have to act fast, as the average application for a product takes ten days.
