Get ready for the new FlyBe credit card
October 25, 2007
If you are familiar with the low cost airline “Flybe” then you will know that they are well known for their superb prices to a variety of different destinations. However what you may not know is that the company has just managed to seal one of the biggest airline credit card deals within the UK.
Teaming up with “Laser”, Flybe is launching its new credit card known as “Spend and Fly” at the beginning of 2008. It is a MasterCard and one of the best benefits which comes with it is that everyone who makes their first transaction will get one free return flight to anywhere on the Flybe network. You will also be part of the “Rewards4all” Flybe scheme which rewards customers for regularly flying with them.
The way that it works is that every £250 that you spend on the card, you receive one point. You only need 16 points to get a free return flight to various destinations. Basically this translates to a free return flight every time £4,000 have been spent. So if you are a regular flyer with the company you could benefit quite a lot!
There are not many airlines which offer such services and whilst it may not benefit everybody flying with them, it is still worth considering. If you only take one or two flights with the company then obviously you may not need their credit card. One or two flights a year will not get you the points that you need to benefit much from the free flights. It would take years to get enough points to get your free flight. So really you should only consider it if you are going to be travelling frequently with the company.
Overall the new credit card is likely to benefit thousands of Flybe’s customers. It is one of the biggest deals ever secured by a UK airline and when it does launch in 2008 you may have to wait in line in order to receive your Spend and Fly credit card.
