Plans continue on for the new Barclays cashless card
September 19, 2007
Barclay’s has already made it clear that they intend to release the first ever cashless credit card by the end of the year. Now it seems those plans are being pushed ever further ahead, as the company so far has over 3,000 people on its waiting list for the cards. It seems consumers are excited about the new invention and there is no doubt that when it finally gets introduced, it will be a massive hit with people everywhere.
The new card is going to be known as “Barclaycard OnePulse” and it is set to be the first credit card to offer Oyster services. However it will only really benefit consumers who live and work in the London area. It will combine both cashless benefits as well as credit benefits too and it will definitely make a big difference when it comes to paying for purchases.
The main concern which many consumers have is where the card will actually be accepted. Can you use it at any store, or are there only certain ones which accept them? Well the good news is that these cards are accepted in over 1,000 stores including in “Yo Sushi”, “Books Etc” and “Coffee Republic”. So you can purchase whatever you like with the card and it should be no problem.
The main benefit of the card is to cut down the queues in London. Being the country’s capital, London tends to suffer from extremely bad queues in every shop. This means that people get extremely frustrated and stressed out. So if the queues were to be cut down then it would definitely make things a lot easier for the people of London. As the card simply needs a quick swipe and that’s it, the time that it takes to pay is dramatically reduced and you can go about your daily business with no troubles at all about being stuck in a queue.
So overall the card is set to benefit everybody living in London and Barclays have now been pushing ahead with the plans for the end of the year.
