MBNA Europe Offers Credit Card Option For Football Fans

Just in time for the start of the new football season, MBNA Europe have rolled out a collection of football affinity credit cards to enable fans to financially support their own club.

For the fans of English Premiership clubs the credit card offer from MBNA Europe is one of the best available, 0% balance transfers for the first twelve months (2% balance transfer fee), 0% APR on all purchases for the first three months of the account opening followed by a standard APR of 15.9%. The interest free period is a standard 56 days for card purchases and the APR for cash withdrawals is currently 22.9% (3% handling fee).

MBNA Europe also offers credit cards affiliated with clubs in the Championship, First and Second Divisions as well as a number of clubs in the Scottish Premier League.

Each time an MBNA Europe football credit card is used for purchases, the affiliated club receives a contribution. Many clubs use these contributions to invest in their youth development programme, which in turn helps develop stars of the future.

Andrew Banks, who is head of Sport at MBNA Europe, said, “With MBNA's football branded credit cards, everyone is a winner. Supporters get to carry their club colours in their wallets and get a competitive rate of interest. The clubs benefit from contributions generated through spending on the cards. If you are a football fan, and want to support your club then this is an excellent way."
