Marks & Spencer Money has been voted the best provider of credit cards in the Your Money Direct Awards 2006.

The company was deemed to provide the best value and service in the provision of credit cards, as well as travel insurance.

According to Marks & Spencer, its credit card offering received praise for the exclusive benefits it offers, such as its loyalty scheme and zero per cent balance transfer offer.

The "speed and professionalism" of the M&S Money telephone service was also complimented, according to the company.

Marks & Spencers' travel insurance offering was reportedly described as user-friendly, well laid out and easy to navigate.

"These awards are very important to us as the judges include a panel of readers, so we're getting the views of people who could be – or could become – our customers.
