Barclaycard Gives To Charity

Barclaycard launched their charity credit card back in September 2004 and over the last 12 months, £380,000 has been donated to four charities.

The Woodland Trust, Marie Curie Cancer Care, The Samaritans and Save The Children charities have all benefited from consumers who have used their Barclaycard charity credit card for purchases.

Whenever a new Barclaycard charity card is used for the first time, Barclaycard will make a one off donation of £5, thereafter 0.3% of all further purchases will be donated equally to the four named charities above.

Adrian Scott, Head of Open Market Direct Sales at Barclaycard said, “Barclaycard employees already give to the community in which they live and work.”

“Knowing that you will be helping a charity when you use your credit card makes people feel that they are doing something, no matter how big or small the amount may be, rather than nothing to help those less fortunate than themselves."

Barclaycard say they are very pleased to be helping so many charities through the use of their credit card.

The Barclaycard charity credit card has a standard APR of 17.9% and 0% introductory offers on balance transfers and purchases until October 1st 2006.
