Credit card tips among AA traveller advice

Insurance provider AA has offered some advice for all Brits planning on taking their children on a holiday this summer.

The first tip that the company offers is to be "credit card cautious" and tell your card provider that you are going abroad so that they won't block your card following unusual spending.

Learning the names of certain things in a foreign language can be useful, the AA states, such as allergies and medicines and keeping any medication in its original bottle can also be helpful to avoid questions at the airport.

The company also advises eating yoghurt before going away to strengthen the digestive system and learning foreign laws, especially road and driving regulations.

If you are planning to take your own car, the AA advises to make sure that you have comprehensive insurance to cover you while abroad.

It is also advisable to "stay sensible" while having a drink, according to the insurer, as many insurance companies will not pay out on a claim that has resulted from substantial alcohol use.
