Sri Lanken terrorist group allegedly responsible for UK fraudA recent major UK fraud scheme based across petrol stations throughout the country has been blamed upon Sri Lankan terrorists. They are said to be using the money to fund attacks in their home countries.

The group are commonly known as the Tamil Tigers and they are basically cloning people’s credit cards when they are used at the petrol stations around the UK. Literally thousands of motorists have noticed and reported that money has come out of their accounts without their authorisation. That is what first notified the police of a potential problem and it is what alerted them to the Tamil Tigers.

So just who are the Tamil Tigers? Well they have apparently been fighting against the Sri Lankan government since the 1970’s because they want Tamil to be an independent state. It simply does not make sense however how the terrorists would be able to get hold of everyone’s details. So it is thought that the Tamil Tigers offered petrol station workers across the country large sums of money to help them to get the card details.

Everything about the way that the fraud has been operated suggests that the Tamil Tigers are behind it. It seems that this is the exact same type of thing which the group does in order to get the money that they need for armed campaigns in Sri Lankan.

Overall it is not certain yet as to how much money has actually been stolen as the fraud involves around 200 petrol stations from around the country. It is thought however that it runs into millions of pounds. This is certainly not good for the thousands of motorists which the fraud has involved and it will definitely make them a little worried when it comes to using petrol stations in the not so distant future.
