HSBC introduce two new credit card offers

HSBC introduce two new credit card offersWhether you prefer to apply online or offline, HSBC have now given you the chance to benefit from a credit card 0% offer. There are two versions of the offer, one for if you apply online and one for if you apply offline. They are both slightly different yet they still offer 0% for a limited time period.

When you inspect the offers more closely you will see that the version where you apply over the phone or through your local branch is generally better. Offering 0% on any purchases that you make for up to 12 months and 4.9% on any balance transfers you make until 31 January 2012, it is a very attractive offer. Usually the balance transfer rate is 15.9% and so when you look at that you realise that the 4.9% until 2012 is actually really good.

When you apply online the deal is 0% on balance transfers for 12 months and 0% on any purchase which you make for up to 3 months. This is obviously not as good as the offline application offer but it is still better than nothing.

The reason that the two offers are completely different is because according to research carried out; consumers who use online banking tend to spend differently to those who shop offline. This could be to do with the fact that there is not as much temptation online as there is offline and so you do not need the extra few months 0% deal that you perhaps would if you shop offline.

Overall these offers will suit everybody and there will no doubt be a long list of applications for the new rates. However you should make sure that you will make use of the offers before you apply otherwise you could just be getting unnecessarily into debt.
