Have you been tempted to run away from your credit card debts?

January 3, 2008

The amount of people in debt has risen dramatically over the past couple of years. Constant credit card offers being pushed through the letterbox and the temptation to purchase things that you usually wouldn’t be able to afford can often prove too much for many people. However the debt soon starts to pile up and as things really start to get on top of you, the urge to just pack up and run away from it all does start to sound extremely appealing.

As unbelievable as it may sound, many people do actually choose to run away from their debt. They simply wake up one morning, pack their bags and attempt to go to some place where they will not be hassled for money. However is running away from your debt really advisable?

Well it may seem like the ideal solution to all of your problems, but actually disappearing is hard to do. There are literally thousands of CCTV cameras all around the world and your personal details are on file everywhere thanks to the government. So disappearing where nobody will find you is actually really hard to do.

As well as being extremely difficult, running away from your problems is never usually the best solution. This is because you will constantly spend your life looking behind you, wondering when your debts will catch up with you. On the other hand if you stay and face up to your debt, you could potentially work out a way of paying your creditors back bit by bit. That way you will be working towards being debt free and you will have a clear conscience.

Overall running away from your debt is never a good idea. So if you are suffering with huge credit card debts, write to your creditors and see if they can help. If not then there are a number of places you can turn to for help such as debt management companies.
