Just how safe are your credit card details?

Just how safe are your credit card details? If you are one of many people, you will find that your credit card details are not actually as safe as you think they are. A shocking survey has revealed that most people within the UK have no problem about reading their credit card details over the phone whilst they are at work. Most people simply do not realise that they are at risk of fraud if they do read out such details, despite the fact that they do work with these people on a daily basis.

Unfortunately it is not only in the office where people are willing to give out such personal details. Surprisingly people give their credit and debit card details in pubs, shops, on public transport and in restaurants. It seems that we just have no fear when it comes to other people stealing our details. You may even think that people will not be fast enough o remember and write down your personal details, but many times you would be wrong. Giving your details out anywhere is definitely not a good idea!

Experts who run the Paypal website think that the reason we feel so comfortable giving out our details at work is because we spend a lot of our time there. More and more people are working later than ever and due to this work often feels like home. With so much time spent at work, many people do not get time to pay their bills any other time and that is why they have to resort to paying them over the phone at work.

People genuinely just do not see the danger in providing their personal details and only 26% of people thought it was risky to give credit card and debit card details over the phone. This is how so many people fall victim to fraud and people really do have to start paying more attention to who is around them and the details they are giving out.
