The recent infiltration of the Card Systems Solutions, which saw the details of 40 million credit card accounts, hacked from they’re database, has led to fears that all the information stolen could make it’s way on to the Internet and being sold for a $100 a time. You may wonder how this can be done, but there are more and more of these sites that sell stolen credit card details.

It is still not a formality that the credit card details which have been exposed and left open to the chances of theft from the accounts of credit card customers, but the overall thought on the matter, is one that the information that has been stolen, will eventually make it’s way on to the websites, such as the iaaca.com (International Association for the Advancement of Criminal Activity) website and sold on to crooks who are willing to use them, to further more sinister forms of crime.

This is despite the increased effort in trying to stop the information that we supply to credit card companies, falling into the hands of the identity thieves, they still manage to be able to steal our details and then set them up on a website to sell to unscrupulous and faceless men and women, who will steal the last penny that you have and they will not even think twice about it. And the fact that they can simply click onto a website and buy for a few dollars, what you have worked hard for, then it is all the more galling.

All of this has resulted in costing us $5 billion and businesses $48 billion a year in the misuse of information that we give to databases, which hold our credit card details as well as other personal details that, should only be known to us.

These people are simply leeches on the society that we live in and to openly sell on the Internet and flaunt the wares of they’re criminal activities, beggars beyond belief, and the effect that this type of criminal activity is going to have not just in American financial circles but also all over the globe, is a very serious long term threat.
